Trips, Bathroom and News
Nov 5th, 2009 by Deb
We’ve been busy here at Great Castle Wilson – aren’t we always! First of all, my sister Patti and I travelled to North Bay, Ontario (where we were born and grew up).
The reason for our visit was to help celebrate the birthday of our Aunt and her twin sister.
Patti and I took some time to do a bit of a nostalgia tour. We found this great wooden horse in one of the shoe stores in the downtown. When we were younger, our dad or the shop owner would lift us up onto that horse when we went to get new shoes. Somehow, he seemed much bigger then.
We also visited with other family too. I made that quilt for my Aunt Lauretta.
And this is a picture of myself, my sister Patti and our cousin Karen just before Patti and I headed back to Ottawa.
In other news, the bathroom reno continues. It is starting to take shape and I will confess to some excitement. I’ll bore you with just a couple of pictures.
And finally, there is a bunch of stuff I have not been telling you. I’m going to sell knitting wool to like-minded souls on the internet. No, my stash will not be sold! The new business name will be Sheeps Ahoy. I have been buying up Jamieson & Smith’s 2-ply Jumper Weight, Jamieson’s Spindrift, and Briggs & Little’s Heritage. This is the new wool coming into the house.
Eventually, once I have done a lot of cleaning, all this wool will be in it’s own room. I’ll be sure to show you pictures of that!
And finally, a little teaser – here is the first kit I will be selling. Meet Hibiscus, designed by Anne Featonby and knit in Jamieson’s Spindrift. Stay tuned.

Great news all around! (Note from the sadder but wiser, watch out for that door on the tub because they like to leak and ruin sections of floor in the process.)
Isn’t Anne Featonby terrific?
Wonderful news about the wool! Now I’ll have a source for my favorite yarns all in one place. Keep us all posted – my J&S stash has been reduced by my latest design (Gems Hat) and there’s another new design in process which will eat up most of the rest…
